Kingston Quaker Centre is delighted to announce the launch of Mindfully Together a weekly evening of Buddhist mindfulness meditation in association with Richmond Mindfulness Meditation Group.
Our meetings are held at Kingston Quaker Centre on Wednesdays from 7:30pm to 9:45pm starting on 5th November, 2014.
We aspire to bring mindfulness, concentration, compassion, and insight to daily living. Our meetings will give us the opportunity to practice guided meditation, walking meditation and silent sitting meditation. We also share readings from a wide range of Buddhist and other spiritual teachers. There is an opportunity for “mindful speaking” in which we communicate with compassionate listening and loving speech. Our meetings finish with tea.
Our meetings are open to all. You do not need to be a Buddhist or a Quaker to attend, nor do you need any previous experience of meditation.
There is no charge for attending our meetings but donations are gratefully accepted towards running costs. Please make contact by email or telephone before attending for the first time.
Kingston Quaker Centre replaces the Meeting House formerly in Eden Street and continues more than three centuries of Quaker presence and service to the community in Kingston. It is a beautiful new building built to high architectural and environmental standards. A quiet and peaceful space intended for silently meeting together. Quakers welcome everyone who shares their ideals of equality, integrity, simplicity and peace and have both Christian and non-Christian members.
Richmond Mindfulness Meditation Group is a friendly and inclusive group, founded in 1997, with both Buddhist and non-Buddhist members. The Group is inspired by and associated with Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh’s Community of Interbeing and with the Insight Meditation tradition of Gaia House.
We are very much looking forward to welcoming you to our Mindfully Together meetings in this inspiring and beautiful space
